CLASS
DESCRIPTION:
GENTLE
YOGA FOR STRESS MANAGEMENT AND FLEXIBILITY
For
new and continuing students,
this slower-paced, non-competitive
class provides props (blocks,
blankets and yoga belts) to support
the body. (Physically-fit students who
want a gentler approach to yoga
also
can benefit from this class.)
Participants are encouraged to move
at their own comfort and
ability.
Class
includes stretching and yoga
postures; stress awareness and
stress management; healthy breathing;
and deep relaxation. You will
need to get down onto the floor and
back up without
assistance.
Arrive early to first class to fill
out a participation form.
BRING A YOGA
MAT AND THROW BLANKET.

REGULAR PRACTICE OF YOGA
CAN INCREASE YOUR FLEXIBILITY,
STRENGTH, BODY TONE, BALANCE,
CONCENTRATION, ENERGY, AND
ABILITY TO MANAGE STRESS.

(DOING) YOGA IN GROUP CLASSES
CAN ENHANCE THE YOGA EXPERIENCE
FROM THE SHARED FOCUS AND
COMMITMENT OF FELLOW STUDENTS
ALSO DESIRING GREATER HEALTH AND
WELL-BEING.
WORKSHOP
DESCRIPTION:
Comfort
at the Computer and Desktop
Stretches
Learn
to sit at your computer desk in a
healthier, more comfortable
posture. Practice stretching
your body in "mini-breaks"
that relieve muscular tension (these
can be practiced at home first until
you feel familiar incorporating them
into the workplace). Acquire
stress management skills for greater
energy and alertness. Tools
for working on body
"knots" and acupressure
points will be available for
use. Arrive early to fill out
a participation form.
