 CLASS DESCRIPTION:

GENTLE YOGA FOR STRESS MANAGEMENT AND FLEXIBILITY 

(for 6-  and 7-week class series)

"This class may be gentle enough for your body and unlike most beginner yoga classes you have heard about or tried."

     For new and continuing students, participate at your own pace, comfort, and ability.  Classes are designed for those experiencing any of the following:  the mid-life transition, chronic health challenges, fatigue, emotional/mood imbalance, weight gain, and stress.  (Physically-fit students who want a gentler approach to yoga can also benefit from this class). 

     Classes include stretching (restorative/restful yoga and traditional postures, breathing techniques, meditation, and relaxation done on the floor (while lying down, seated, kneeling, and standing).  You are encouraged to pace yourself and avoid doing anything that hurts or does not feel right for your body.  It is alright for you to "sit out" an exercise that does not work for you in a particular class or during any of the classes.  

     These classes are designed to be fun and noncompetitive!       

  • THE REGULAR PRACTICE OF YOGA CAN INCREASE YOUR FLEXIBILITY, STRENGTH, BODY TONE, BALANCE, CONCENTRATION, ENERGY, AND ABILITY TO MANAGE STRESS. 

  • PRACTICING (DOING) YOGA IN GROUP CLASSES CAN ENHANCE THE YOGA EXPERIENCE FROM THE SHARED FOCUS AND COMMITMENT OF FELLOW STUDENTS ALSO DESIRING GREATER HEALTH AND WELL-BEING.
